Talon Lodge is owned and operated by Gwen and Phil Younger who both have long-standing ties to Sitka, Alaska and Southeast Alaska. Gwen grew up in Sitka and has logged many nautical miles throughout the Inside Passage on her family's commercial fishing boat. Phil spent several summers working in the Tongass National Forest for Alaska Lumber and Pulp. As a timber cruiser, he had an opportunity to hike and fish in uncharted areas throughout Southeast Alaska, and has many entertaining bear stories to tell. While you’re here at Talon Lodge, be sure to ask him about the time he was charged by a bear that was being chased by a helicopter. As Phil will be the first to tell you, anything can happen in Alaska!

Joining Phil and Gwen is their daughter and son, Jessica & Cole. For the past twelve years Jessica has headed up the customer service department. As one of Talon's sport fishing captains, Cole has spent twelve years on the water with our guests enhancing their fishing experience.

Experienced captains, chefs, massage therapists and hospitality service experts round out a service staff that is unmatched in Alaska. Each of these service professionals have dedicated their summers to the same mission - Providing the very best Alaska adventure experience to each and every Talon Lodge guest.
